Established November 1st, 1991 - Improving the quality of life, one child at a time...

"I graduated from Northeastern State University in 2006 with a Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.  I spent 8 years providing services in the school systems before transitioning to J.Z. Mann full-time in October 2015.  Working at J.Z. Mann has been a very rewarding experience.  I have the opportunity to work with a diverse population with very diverse needs.  Since no two clients are the same, I am challenged creatively as well as staying well-informed of the new methodologies, techniques and tools used to meet the needs of all of my clients.  At J.Z. Mann, I have access to a coordinated team of therapists (SLPs, OTs, PTs) and the learning opportunities are endless.  However, the best part of my job is educating and empowering the parents.  Helping them help their child communicate is very gratifying and the reason why I do what I do."

“I graduated from University of Memphis in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Since graduating, I have worked in a pediatric clinic and at a children’s hospital. I began working at J.Z. Mann Pediatric Therapy in February 2018 and have absolutely loved getting to know all of the wonderful children and their families! They continually inspire me to want to learn more and to become a better therapist. I love that I am provided with the opportunity to work with talented O.T.s and P.T.s, as well as other S.T.s, here at J.Z. Mann!”

"I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2014 with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I was a middle and high school English teacher prior to that. I have provided services to the pediatric population in both the school system and private settings. I began working at J.Z. Mann in April 2019 and am so happy that I made the decision to join the team! We have the opportunity to collaborate with wonderful therapists both within and outside of our disciplines (ST, PT, OT) so that we are better able to meet the needs of our patients. What I like most about working at J.Z. Mann is that we understand the essential role that families play in all aspects of our services; therefore, we make sure families are a part of the entire process - from assessment through treatment."

Melissa Beatson, MA, CCC-SLP (University of North Carolina-Greensboro, 2014)

"I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2019 with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I knew I wanted to work with a diverse set of pediatric patients, and J.Z. Mann has given me that opportunity. I love working with children and their families to create treatment plans that will be impactful and effective. My clients inspire me every day to improve my skills and continue learning to provide them with the best therapy possible. I am grateful to work at J.Z. Mann where I am surrounded by so many skilled SLPs, PTs and OTs who are dedicated to improving the lives of children."
